Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural healing art; a hands-on technique for activating the healing responses of the body. Every part of the body has a reflex area on the feet. When the reflexes are stimulated, messages are carried along the neural pathways to the corresponding body part and this triggers the body to go to a state of balance or normal functioning.

The application of gentle pressure to specific points located on the soles of the feet stimulates the healing process throughout the body. Instead of relying on medication to solve health problems, more and more people turn to reflexology as a safe and effective way of helping the body heal itself.

Reiki

A hands-on healing art, Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is the Usui system of healing, dating back over 3000 years. The term Reiki means universal life force energy – Rei meaning spiritual universal life force and Ki meaning energy. This treatment can enhance and accelerate the body’s innate healing ability. Using the Reiki practitioner as the conduit, the input of life force energy encourages the body to regain its natural balance to fight off stress or illness, be it mental, physical or emotional. A very relaxing treatment, one hour of Reiki is the equivalent of 8 hours of sleep!

Reflexology and Reiki for Fertility

The entire body will be treated while dealing specifically with either the female reproductive areas – pelvic organs, ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, or the male reproductive system. The endocrine system will be stimulated, with particular emphasis on the pituitary and thyroid glands. The immune system will be strengthened and stress released, leaving the client relaxed and refreshed.

Reflexology and Reiki for Pregnancy

Maternity treatments are aimed specifically at women during pre-conception, pregnancy, labour and the post-natal period. Reflexology and Reiki can help alleviate the imbalance and significant emotional, hormonal and physical changes experienced during pregnancy. Research shows that women who have received regular reflexology and reiki treatments during pregnancy are more likely to experience a restored equilibrium, and are more likely to have a shorter labour with less need for pain relief.

Crystal Therapy

Crystal Therapy is the ancient art of laying-on-of-stones. Gems, stones, and crystals are laid on the body over the chakra points. Each chakra resonates to a particular colour, so by laying a stone of that colour over the chakra, the chakras open, align and blend with one another. When the chakra system is balanced, the physical body is able to innately self-correct and heal naturally.

The Mindful Kids Movement

Created by Early Childhood Educator and Children’s Meditation Facilitator, Sheena Bounsanga, The Mindful Kids Movement is designed specifically with kids in mind. The Mindful Kids Movement is a series of children’s classes that will teach your child how to quiet their mind and body and embrace their inner power. We will start with the basics on how to sit quietly (breathing, posture, connection) and then how to listen and feel peace and calmness. Expressive arts and music will also be incorporated into these classes.

In the School What is the Mindful Kids Movement? The Mindful Kids Movement helps students cope with today’s ever-changing, fast-paced lifestyles.

Busy school and life schedules can be overwhelming and a source of fear and anxiety for kids. Transitioning from one classroom subject or activity to another, shuffling from school to swimming lessons to dinner to homework can leave little time for kids to enjoy their lives or be mindful of their surroundings.

The Mindful Kids Movement aims to provide teachers with proven calming tools and strategies they can use in the classroom to make the learning environment a better place for students and teachers alike!

The end result: Happy and motivated Mindful Kids who realize their full potential! Who Benefits from the Mindful Kids Movement? Kids of all ages benefit from the Mindful Kids Movement – from kindergarten right through to highschool. Placing emphasis on the “here and now” will allow kids to incorporate mindfulness in their daily lives, without the need for a quiet room, meditation pillow, or separation from other students. Meditation and Relaxation Classes for Kids

So many of us spend our time rushing around and doing; taking little or no time for just being. This kind of existence has created not just busy adults, but overbooked, overloaded, and anxious children. Many children are so busy doing sports, homework, activities, and classes, they have no time to just quietly be with themselves and the world around them. Young people are spending more and more time with passive entertainment such as portable game systems, cell phones, and televisions rather than actively engaging the world.

Mindfulness practice offers something radically different: an effective path for people of all ages and backgrounds to develop healthy responses to a chaotic world around them and often inside them. Mindfulness is simple; it doesn’t require buying equipment, carrying any special supplies, or learning anything complicated.

How can we convince a child to sit still and meditate, not to mention schedule that time in our own busy lives? This series is not about teaching children to sit in the lotus position for long periods of time. Instead, I suggest short, simple exercises that can plant seeds of meditative relaxation and mindfulness awareness in all aspects of our children’s lives, “transforming everyday life into a meditation”. Children already have a head start on this. They have a natural tendency to notice the details that we adults overlook, ask questions we’ve stopped asking, and be open to new experiences without prejudgment.

The exercises in this course are designed for children’s diverse attention spans and diverse sensory learning styles.
